STORYWALK®
Turn your next walk into an adventure! Outdoor paths are lined with storyboards that bring a children’s book to life, allowing families to reach and engage with each other as they walk. As they move along the trail, each board reveals another page, a unique of outdoor exploration and storytelling. Perfect for young readers and families, these StoryWalks® create an engaging and active way to enjoy books while exploring the world around you.

Who is the StoryWalk® for?
StoryWalks® are ideal for families of children under five, but many of the titles also work well for elementary aged students. These titles also include information about the early literacy skills to help families become kindergarten ready.
What is the benefit of taking my child(ren) to a StoryWalk®?
StoryWalks® provide early literacy opportunities to young children. Sharing the reading of a StoryWalk® book stimulates and fosters the development of strong listening and speaking skills. StoryWalks® also help to build a child’s vocabulary, which is important to thinking and learning. Developing early literacy skills leads to better preparation for school.
How can I request a StoryWalk® for my school or organization?
You can request a StoryWalk® by emailing Carrie Lane, Youth Services Coordinator at lanec@aclalibraries.org.
